Dr. Sam Dreeben
What cultural and personal expectations exist for widowed people? How do these shape the experience of widowhood for the men and women whose lives have been altered by the death of a spouse or partner? This will be an interactive workshop exploring themes of identity and culture with the goal of crafting a personal definition of widowhood.
Dr. Dreeben is a clinical psychologist, and one of the key researchers at the Soaring Spirits Resilience Center at Schreiner University. He is a valued and much-loved member of the Soaring Spirits team. Sam will share what he’s learned by drawing on extensive research with widowed people, his professional experience working with families in a hospice setting and his role as a support to clients in his psychology practice.
