The Soaring Spirits Resilience Center at Schreiner University is one of Soaring Spirits most exciting new programs. Through our partnership with Schreiner University, the Soaring Spirits Resilience Center will be publishing the first EVER Widowed Resilience Scale.

The Widowed Resilience Scale is a self-assessment tool designed specifically for widowed people based on research conducted with the participation of thousands of widowed men and women. Noting the huge gap in research about widowhood and the resulting lack of assessment tools that fit the particular experience of spousal or partner loss, we’ve created a research based, practical assessment tool for use by anyone who has experienced the death of the person with whom they planned to spend their life.

Soaring Spirits Resilience Center researcher, Dr. Sam Dreeben and Soaring Spirits Resilience Center Director, Michele Neff Hernandez, will share the fascinating work involved in the creation of the Widowed Resilience Scale, explain how and why the scale will be used and why this new assessment tool is great news for our community and the many people who support anyone who is widowed.
