Testimonials
Sad, morose, depressing, and weepy widows? Not us! (Okay, some of it may have been depressing to other people…but not to us.) So for anyone who was on the fence about going and opted not to, I can whole-heartedly recommend it the next time it happens. (And Michele does plan to have another, it sounds like.) It was worth every penny I spent (and then some) to get here...

Writing Intensive: Write It Out
In this invigorating, interactive writing as healing session, let your pen run on and on, spilling your stories, your fears, your hopes, and your joys. Reminisce or reignite your spirit with ink on paper in a supportive, encouraging environment.
A journal writer since childhood, Sarah Wenstrand has written for the past four years about her young husband’s death due to cancer, her life as a young widow, and everything in between. An experienced and gentle facilitator, she will guide participants to write it out in a safe, encouraging environment. Writing with others creates a dynamic, supportive community, subtly creating a healing process without the need for a “support group” approach while still bringing people together during widowhood and grief, a time that can often be isolating.
We will spend time writing spontaneously together from a prompt Sarah provides, then read aloud (if participants choose) and respond in a positive and supportive manner. No writing experience is necessary, grammar check performed, judgment passed, or pressure to publish placed on participants, just come with a willingness to let the pen lead you and an openness to write whatever comes. This dynamic experience will illustrate the writing experience and provide a foundation for further independent or group writing.
